Bill holds regular classes in portraiture, painting and life-drawing, having taught at the Crescent Arts Centre, Belfast for over 20 years.

Bill is very conscious of “freedom and control” in his classes, getting results with experimentation and bringing out each person’s own individuality, balancing the techniques of the classical masters and the modern ideal of free expression.

His classes often are accompanied with music which can fuse with the act of painting or drawing, creating an atmosphere of quiet solitude in which to work.

Bill’s interaction in class is a very conscious balance between stepping back  and stepping forward when needed, offering encouragement and giving technical help in a variety of techniques from watercolour to pencilling, oil painting to acrylic, and egg tempra to iPad.

Term classes are booked through the Crescent Arts Centre website at the start of the Autumn, Spring and Summer terms.
